How long have you been in business?
Foresight originally came into being as VARNET software in Montreal in the 1970s. Our name was changed to Foresight Software in 1995, and we became a locally owned development company in May 2006.
What is your primary product or service?
We develop a suite of business applications (called Enterprise Resource Planning, or ERP) designed for the small to medium business. The best user of our application is a distributor who may have a light assembly or manufacturing component, and/or who supplies services to his product after the sale.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Our owner began working with ERP systems as a Production Control Manager in 1983. Since joining Foresight in 1996 as a systems analyst, he has taken the company through major changes aimed at making our software one of the most powerful and user-friendly in our industry.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We pride ourselves on being "the smallest big software company in the world", which means that we can give each of our customers individual attention, and tailor our solution to exactly meet their business needs.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are based exclusively in Atlanta (Duluth), but provide software and implementation services worldwide. We currently have customers on 5 continents, with a loose network of application partners to assist in global support.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
We are a privately held firm, locally operated and owned by our President/CEO.
What are your hours of operation?
Our phones are open from 8:00 to 5:00 M-F, but we accept calls for software support 24x7.
