How long have you been in business?
We have owned this Chem-Dry for more than 6 years, and we helped get it started about 16 years ago when our neighbors were just starting the business.
What is your primary product or service?
Safe, dry carpet and rug cleaning, furniture and draperies.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
When I first moved to the Marietta area, my first friend gave me a can of the Chem-Dry spotter. I couldn't get a milk spot out of our first apartment carpet. It worked so well, was so non-toxic and safe, that I used them everywhere we lived, then worked answering phones for her when she bought her own Chem-Dry. I learned how she operated her business and later helped All-Star get going. One day, I called for service and our former neighbor said she was going to have to sell the business. We had decided to get out of construction, and I said "We'll do it!" We love Chem-Dry because it is so natural and works so much better than steam-type cleaning.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We don't play games with customers, like give a low ball price and then raise it up when we get in the home. We try to do everything we can to make customers very happy, and reward our long-term customers with great specials and freebies.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We operate out of Kennesaw, and also from 7 Home Depot stores where we represent All-Star Chem-Dry. We hope to expand into tile and grout cleaning service within the next year, to clean stone, tile and other hard surfaces with Chem-Dry's new tile cleaning system.

8-6 Monday through Saturday, but we can help with evening and emergency situations (like the flooding we had recently, we did four houses starting at midnight!)
